Parodies, puns and assorted doodles inspired by favored tunes

Why

Dedicated to Mom and Dad

Even though I have never played an instrument, music has always been an important part of my life. My dad was a musician who loved jazz. When I was young he played drums. And then later he took up vibes, clarinet and he also fooled around on the piano.  I remember being in the car with Dad and the radio was always tuned to a jazz station.  Mom also loved music. She brought home record albums of Broadway musical soundtracks that I listened to over and over. I grew up with a great appreciation of the great songs from those shows.

The cartoons on this website are all inspired one way or another by music. Before he passed away my Dad urged me to take up an instrument. I didn’t think I could ever get good enough at playing music to satisfy myself. But I have found a way to enjoy listening to music and to participate in a small way.

All of the drawings here have been done after my Mom and Dad died. I think they would have liked them.

Here is a video of my Dad on the piano about 6 months before he died.
